Haha.  No, but seriously.  All superstitions aside, here’s a restaurant you might be interested in if you’re one of those people who like visiting weird places.  Or if you’re one of those people that eat and shoot; except this restaurant eliminates the rushing part in between.

Modern Toilet Restaurant, China

The Modern Toilet inaugurated in 2004 by owner Wang Tzi-wei drew inspiration for the eatery from a Japanese cartoon featuring restroom images and the toilet themes with menus for food and drinks. The restaurant accommodates 100 seats with each made from toilet bowls. The specialties at the restaurant accompany sink faucets and gender-coded “WC” signs that appear on the three-story structure. The food is served in mini plastic toilet bowls. The toilet rolls that serve for wiping hand and mouth are hung above the tables, which may resemble glass-topped jumbo bathtubs.

Actually, this idea isn’t very original – dogs have thought of eating out of toilets first.

As a filler (for the next couple of months, probably), here’s a nice set of vintage 3-D photos I’ve found on that one site that attracts elite photographers (that make you wonder why life can’t be always as beautiful as their epic photos) and the MySpace-esque “camwhores” (that make you happy that life consists of more than one angle); Flickr.  That was a really bad run on sentence that my English teacher would fail me for.  I’m sorry, professor.

So. Like yeah. Introducing the PuchiPuchi Virtual Bubble Wrap.  This is probably either the worst or best little gadget invented. It’s made to simulate an actual sheet of bubble wrap. I wonder if the orgasmic satisfaction that comes with squeezing the shit out of the little bubbles is covered as well. For $59.00 dollars (5-pack), I sure hope so. In a failed attempt to make this time waster a bit more worth its price, every 100 pops rewards you with a random sound. This includes (but not limited to): barking dog, farting, sexy voice, nagging wife, sound of slapping nagging wife, and pikachu. I’ll most likely get one.

Commercials nowadays are starting to get more creative and effective enough for TV watchers to remember them. For now, that Subway commercial would probably place 6th on a list of my most memorable commercials. Of course, this isn’t a static list and I most likely just can’t remember my most favorite ones due to my mind overflowing with more important material… and that excuse is what I will stick to. Here are my top 5 memorable commercials. After reading this, feel free to list your top 5 =) That is of course if anyone even reads this lol.

#5 Sprite’s ‘Sublymonal’ Commercials
When I first saw one of these commercials, I was dumbfounded. It seriously felt like two sumo wrestlers crashed their bodies together with my head right in the middle of it. Their subliminal message was so obvious it had no affect on me. Wait… why the hell did I remember this commercial… Touché Sprite.

#4 Scion Commercials
They got me when they had the commercial about the little deviants. I was confused as hell and it made me always think of Scion whenever i heard or saw the word ‘deviant’.(Scionart.com) This commercial alone wouldn’t have made it without the help of their new commercial. Their new commercials are pretty funny and are pretty creative. Their small tweak made a big difference to their status in my head.

#3 Element Honda Commercials
Their style is very unique and still very simple. Their commercial probably consists of less than 100 frames, but they still get the message out. I like how each speaking character has their own ‘unique’ voice. You gotta love stereotypes.

#2 Sonic Commercials
Even though the closest Sonic is in Tracy, that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t hesitate to take a road trip with one person. Only one person though or else the Sonic dialogue might not happen and I want that Sonic dialogue! Oh how I want that Sonic dialogue… Getting back on topic, their commercials are memorable to me. Why? I guess it is mostly due to their sense of humor. Just the mix of their tone, calmness, awkwardness, and stupidity is overwhelming that I can’t help but remember them. I would love to have a breakfeast sometime…

#1 Skittles Commercials
‘Nuff said. Seriously though, words can’t even express how creative and funny all of their commercials are. I admit, some of their commercials were weird, but that just makes them even more memorable. To add to that, I love Skittles. =) Yahyahyah I do! Damn… too many commercials to add, you could search them yourself…

Link: Artist Leaves Dog to Die on Exhibition Display

“… a man who calls himself an artist. His name is Guillermo Vargas Habacuc and the year is 2007. Guillermo is one of the artists taking part in an art exhibition that takes place at a Costa Rican gallery – pompously called “Centro Nacional de la Cultura” (National Center for Culture). He pays a bunch of kids to catch the street dog, which he cruelly baptizes “Natividad” (Spanish for “birth”). His aim is to make an artistic statement about the fragility and the misery in which all dogs – indeed, all human beings live, and he achieved just that by letting the dog starve to death tied to a wall, in plain view of the exhibition visitors, some of whom demanded futilely that the dog be released.

All he did, he says, was to make a show of its death in order to bring home the truth about how all dogs live miserable lives. “I let him die of hunger in the sight of everyone, as if the death of a poor dog was a shameless media show in which nobody does anything but to applaud or to watch disturbed. In the place that the dog was exposed remain a metal cable and a cord. The dog was extremely ill and did not want to eat, so in natural surroundings it would have died anyway; thus they are all poor dogs: sooner or later they die or are killed,” the so-called artist brags on his blog.”

So today, I came across this article. My initial reaction was “holy shit”, to put it bluntly. The fact that this man is so proud of his “art” is not what vexes me. It’s the fact that the gallery actually permitted him to showcase this. Sure, art basically has no boundaries. Heck, you gotta love artists – they can call any crap they make as “art” and still get validation. But this is beyond my understanding. Although the death of the dog struck my emotions the way art is intended to, I just feel as if there could have been other alternatives to portray the “miserable lives of dogs”. PAINT vs tying a starving dog to a wall in some gallery to be seen as “art” rather than a living thing? Come Charles, let’s be artists so that way, we’re not bound by SOLID concepts of right/wrong and success/failure like most healthy people.

Even if the poor thing was going to die in the first place, why exhibit it’s inevitable death for people to marvel upon? That’s just as cruel, demeaning, and inhumane as killing the dog yourself. In conclusion, I can’t see myself hanging that or displaying that in my home.

Nowadays, TV isn’t what it used to be as it was for me before. Before internet, perhaps? Even the umpteen thousand channels provided by a cable or satellite provider cannot compare against teh internetz. Watch whatever show you want at any time you want: reruns of past episodes that you may have missed, old school shows when you want to reminisce, new and old movies (ie. Never Been Kissed), Japanese dubbed anime because English dubbed butchers 90% of them (It’s hard to rhyme when you think of English dubs. Not just anime shows.) The TV is just an organized computer that shows things you don’t really want to see.
